I have characters for everyone but Gauz and Tyler.

If you all want to write a paragraph or two about your character it will help me write what equipment to give you.

Otherwise im randomly going to generate stuff for your character.

About your characters former lives if you want or just how you survived from an overrun school protected by the military to the apartment complex i'll have you all start in.

So, Pheonix... you wanted backstory? Take it!

Dmitri Tymoschuk

Twenty-six years ago, a child was born in the darkest heart of the Soviet Union. One may argue that Kiev is a crossroads of civilization far from the backwaters of Siberia. While that may be true, it is still a long walk from Kiev to Checkpoint Charlie, and the older sections of Kiev are civilized much in the way a petri dish of E. Coli can be called 'cultured'. The West may talk about how tough Glasgowians are, but the denizens of that fine city at least have something to live for. Seventy years of systematic crushing of hope and joy by their communist overlords has left a criminal element as mean as a cornered rodent, as tenacious as a staph infection, and so tough you could hone knives on them.

Not that much honing went on. Mostly, they used each other as impromptu knife repositories.

On Volos'ka Street, where the citizens knew that the Great Patriotic War was over but weren't quite sure if they could tell the difference, the Tymoschuk family hoped and prayed for a better future. The prayers were answered when the Soviet Union collapsed and the Ukraine declared its independence. Less than a year later, the extended family had uprooted itself and relocated to New York.

There were many reasons for the move, but ultimately this American Eagle had defeated the seemingly invincible Russian Bear without firing a shot. If there was a country where man could live in peace with his neighbors, the thinking went, surely it was the USA.

At the age of thirteen, Dmitri was enrolled in school and helped his father open a liquor store. He was a model student, quietly learning his math and science, eventually partaking in extracurricular sports. His grasp of the English language was unmatched by the older members of his family and thus was the bridge between them and the community, translating for neighbors, customers, store clerks, DMV officials, policemen and parole officers. Gone was the quiet, withdrawn kid who had seen family members and strangers in the street murdered. His replacement was an all-star student who played baseball for his high-school team and ran cross country.

Well, mostly.

The exact details on the lead-up to the confrontation vary, but Dmitri never offered a better defense than “He had it coming.” A verbal disagreement with the team captain escalated into a shouting match, then a shoving war, and quickly ended when Dmitri picked up an aluminum baseball bat.

His early years in Kiev had taught him that if you can't fight back, run. Dmitri was at the stage where he didn't have to run, and to the shame of his family, it got him tried as an adult at age 17 and sentenced to 11 months in jail.
Ever the practical fellow, Dmitri completed his GED from behind bars and signed up for work-release programs. If anything, he rather enjoyed his in jail, because he got to work out in the sun and most everyone else left him the Hell alone.

Upon release, Dmitri found himself smitten with a wanderlust, and left New York in search of jobs. Every winter, he returns home, and yet he travels further each time. Mostly, his talents lie in construction and landscaping, though he worked for a while as an unlicensed plumber and industrial mechanic.

He has also developed a mild taste for violence, and has been picked up by the police several times. After another brief stint in jail, he is currently serving parole in a volunteer halfway house. The owners, Mr. & Mrs. Rodriguez are somewhat wary of renting a room out to him, but are quite confident that he's scarier than any trouble that their neighborhood might throw their way. Mostly, they think of him as a pit bull that weeds gardens and repairs underground sprinkler systems.

LP has asked me to post my bio as an example. I have edited out the parts describing the characters thoughts.

Tyler is an Architecture student in a Detroit University. Having grown up in a small town and been both a hunter and a boy-scout (along with a pseudo-jock), he is capable of surviving in sub-civilization. The hunting gave his some capability with firearms, over-field movement, and concealment. The Scouting taught him first aid, field survival, and how to travel light. Before the event, he enjoyed climbing, urban exploring, and low-mid level parkour. He has been accused of being "Half Ninja" for (unintentionally) moving silently and unpredictably. These skills motivate him to survive by movement. Within the past year he had a major operation involving a cadaver bone graft. He has a brother who has been preparing for z-day, located in East-Central Michigan.

Note that the bio alludes to the characters skill-set, and shows both were those skills came from and how the character will likely use them

I have everyone's character and equipment has been set.

Need a time to set up and be together to start, I recommend Skype text in a group I made since we all have an account There.

Would everyone be okay with Saturday for the first round? Maybe 6 or 7 pm EST time, not sure what that equates to for Rot/Rasq though

Re: Zombies: D&D style

I did put this on hold for quite some time and I apologize for that.

I was not quite ready with the map and such to keep you all in a constant area. If I had started when planned you all would undoubtedly left the confines of my area and the games quality would have gone down hill from there.

Well currently my computers power cord is busted and the spare part isn't coming in till about the 3rd so I have plenty of time to make everything tip top shape (I have a new map now and it is looking nice) not to mention I have been reading other material to supplement the experience.

If you all still have character sheets or at least remember your characters you can start making changes to them if you want be it new stats, different character backgrounds(so you can act a bit different while roleplaying or what not) or anything you really want to get ready.

Doesn't matter cause I can not personally access ANY of your sheets until my computer is back online.

Shit will be cash though friends. Shit will be cash.

New Players are more than welcome to join in, I already know of one or two who are interested in joining (it is fine if you don't want to join right away, provisions can be made for you to start later or even run a solo(ISH) campaign to get started. No pressure of being the new guy in a group. I think almost everyone playing is a newbie anyway.

The first page of this thread shows how to make most of a character. If you need help PM Rot, he should be able to help you through anything.

Also if you are already in the game and only have 1 character well....

Good luck.

Best to have a secondary character sheet on standby. Something fun to play as like a pissed off old man (Bill from L4D) so you can say funny/stupid shit.

Just a suggestion.

Update Bitches.

The kind folks of PC Depot sent me the cord and I am currently on my computer.

If anyone wants to look over their Character or even receive their character sheet, ask me.
