If the part does arrive on thursday then i'll have pics of me actually starting to do real work.

The plan is to take a saw attachment to the dremel and cut off these six pieces:




Assholes would not come off by desoldering.


Could probably just dremel off the four corner ones and remove the on/off and reset button by hand, but we'll cross that bridge when we get to it.

Got the piece and stared Dremeling those pieces off.

In my haste to remove them I realized I shouldn't remove the power and audio/video ports to late and had already cut through the power.

The smart way was to remove the controller ports then wire the screen in and just plug in the power to see if it worked.

Now the only way to tell if anything i'm doing is working right is if I wire power up to it manually.


Actually after just typing that last sentence I was going to say in this one that I would have to wire up the battery I was planning to use, but realized while typing I can just cut the power cord and wire it directly to the board. Would be a lot simpler. Here's hoping I don't short the board and kill it.
